Ângelo Costa got his European Doctorate in 2013, his Master in Informatics Engineering in 2009, and his Degree in Informatics Engineering in 2007 at the University of Minho (Portugal). He attended 5 specializing courses. He has performed 6 pre-doctoral and post-doctoral research stays with a total of 21 months (12 months at UPV, 3 at UVigo, 3 at UCLM, 2 at AFADIS, and 1 in Università degli Studi di Genova). His research is focused on Ambient Intelligence and Ambient Assisted Living, Intelligent Systems, Multi-Agent Learning in Cooperative and Adversarial Environments, HCI, and Robotic Assistants. He helped to found the Cognitive Assistants research line. He published 20 (of 25) articles in JCR-indexed journals (10 in Q1, 4 in Q2, 5 in Q3, and 2 in Q4), 40 in conferences with international peer reviews, and 6 book chapters. He edited a Springer book and two journal special issues (Elsevier (Q2) and MDPI (Q3)). He has participated in 5 research projects (PLATINUM (transfer project), CLA (Post-Doc FCT fellowship), RISEWISE (European mobility), AAL4ALL and TIARAC). He co-supervised 5 master’s thesis and was part of the tribunal of two doctoral and two master’s theses. Currently, he is the supervisor of two MSc theses. He participated in 34 programme committees, and organized 9 conferences and workshops. He has given 11 invited talks in international institutes and universities. One paper was disseminated in 44 newspapers, and covered by 5 radio stations and 3 TV stations. Another paper was covered by 71 international newspapers, 4 radio stations and 3 TV stations. He received 6 prizes received from prestigious institutions as IBM. He was lecturer during two years at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto at bachelor degree, and is an associated teacher at the Universidad de Alicante.
