Social intervention
El grupo GITSS investiga sobre las características de la intervención social, la intervención con grupos y con la comunidad, los instrumentos para la toma de decisiones y la planificación, los protocolos de intervención, la participación de las personas usuarias en la intervención, la medición y evaluación de resultados, la calidad de la intervención social y los aspectos éticos y metodológicos de la investigación en Trabajo Social e intervención social
Social services
En esta línea el grupo GITSS investiga sobre la estructura, dinámica, organización de los servicios sociales, así como sobre sus programas, proyectos y servicios, los protocolos de intervención, la medición y evaluación de sus resultados, la calidad de los servicios sociales y la participación de las personas usuarias en los servicios
Social problems
El grupo investiga sobre problemas sociales objeto de la intervención social (cuidado y género, dependencia, participación de las personas usuarias de los servicios, grupos, comunidades e intervención social, etc.)

También el grupo se interesa por la mejora de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la intervención social y por la participación de las personas usuarias de los servicios en la formación para la intervención social (expertos por la experiencia)
