Urban Planning 2 belongs to the Urban Design and Regional Planning Unit. The subject is offered during the first semester Degree in Architecture’s third year. As a continuation to Urban Planning 1, Urban Planning 2 is a monothematic course about the urban public space. This subject aims to cover theories and strategies related to the public space’s spatial analysis and project development.

• Analyse and study the urban public space and its use in relation to the complex structure of the city.

• Explore and apply a range of traditional and innovative methodologies in order to encourage reflection on diverse aspects related to the qualities, functions and spatial characteristics of contemporary public spaces.

• Develop a public space project proposal while familiarising the student with diverse concepts, methods, and tools in the field of urban design.
