Analysis of the relationship of literary texts in English and works of artistic visual culture. The subject also explores how to use this relationship when teaching English. The subject is also to be considered part of the general approach to English language and literature.
The main aim of this subject is to reveal how the expansion of the conventional limits of literature takes place.
It is also a primary aim to overcome the conventional constrictions usually derived from purely literary analysis of linguistic texts.
It is also a fundamental aim of the subject to allow students to become familiar with the relationship of literary texts and artistic visual works, while paying special attention to the intimate connexion between literature and specific visual works of art.
Students must develop the ability to design a practical and realistic methodology allowing them to carry out specific analysis of the relationship between literary texts and works belonging to other artistic areas.
Students will have to explore how the relationship between literary texts and artistic visual works of art can be used when teaching English.
