Course context for academic year 2019-20

 

The tourist information geolocation is becoming a very effective way to improve the management of resources involved in this type of economic activity, allows the spatial relationship with other phenomena taking place in the territory, facilitates spatial tasks and improves disclosure for the promotion and marketing of tourism resources, using electronic media and the Internet provide the WEB.

The widespread use of social networks and Web 2.0 enhances the tendency to location on destinations, routes, travel and interesting products, streamlining the electronic media for dissemination and knowledge sharing by Internet.

This course proposes, through various exercises, the ability to be gaining the skills to create geographic information associated with tourist information for publication on the Internet, manage locally and in the "Cloud"

General Competences

  • CG1 : Conocer las nuevas tendencias del sector turístico y las técnicas prospectivas para desarrollar una visión innovadora y proactiva del mismo.
  • CG10 : Elegir metodologías científicas adecuadas para concebir, diseñar y, en su caso, implementar proyectos e investigaciones turísticas.
  • CG11 : Decidir sobre la aplicación óptima de las nuevas tecnologías en el sector turístico.
  • CG12 : Decidir sobre la aplicación de técnicas de recogida y análisis de datos para el análisis de procesos sociales y el diseño de investigaciones en entornos turísticos.
  • CG4 : Adquirir las técnicas de análisis necesarias para diagnosticar problemas en el contexto turístico y ser capaz de desarrollar soluciones.
  • CG7 : Manejar las técnicas de comunicación en diferentes ámbitos relacionados con la industria turística.

 

Specific Competences

  • CE1 : Conocer y aplicar los instrumentos de planificación turística de forma coherente con su ámbito específico de aplicación.
  • CE10 : Conocer y aplicar de forma correcta las técnicas de análisis avanzado apropiadas a un destino turístico y sacar conclusiones sobre los resultados.
  • CE7 : Conocer y aplicar los instrumentos de gestión sostenible de destinos y productos turísticos.

 

Basic Competences

  • CB10 : Que los estudiantes posean las habilidades de aprendizaje que les permitan continuar estudiando de un modo que habrá de ser en gran medida autodirigido o autónomo.
  • CB6 : Poseer y comprender conocimientos que aporten una base u oportunidad de ser originales en el desarrollo y/o aplicación de ideas, a menudo en un contexto de investigación
  • CB7 : Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar los conocimientos adquiridos y su capacidad de resolución de problemas en entornos nuevos o poco conocidos dentro de contextos más amplios (o multidisciplinares) relacionados con su área de estudio
  • CB8 : Que los estudiantes sean capaces de integrar conocimientos y enfrentarse a la complejidad de formular juicios a partir de una información que, siendo incompleta o limitada, incluya reflexiones sobre las responsabilidades sociales y éticas vinculadas a la aplicación de sus conocimientos y juicios

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2019-20

-Emphasize the importance of serving GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION managing tourism activities from a territorial perspective.

-Enhance the role of digital information and communication technologies (ICT) and geographic information systems (GIS DATABASES) for its effectiveness in studies of tourist spaces

-Allow the students lay the foundation for a foundation necessary for the treatment and representation of digital geographic information and assess the benefits of using these computer resources in their future professional activities

-Train in basic management of most common tools or affordable in the mapping process and the treatment of geographic data associated to tourism for processing, by performing exercises scheduled for representation, electronic publishing or printing

-Training for project development work with these teconologías tourism promotion for broadcast and telematics
