Course context for academic year 2021-22

Knowledge, understanding and management of the language of specialisation (legal, administrative and economic) in the foreign and native working languages, with special emphasis on disparate, misleading elements when translating specialised documents from the legal, financial, and administrative fields.
Identification of recurring structural and discursive features in the textual genres of each field of specialisation in the foreign working language and application of their equivalents in the native language.

• Knowledge and understanding of the legal, economic and administrative language registers in the foreign language.
• Application of rhetoric-pragmatic strategies of comprehension and expression in the foreign language.
• Knowledge, understanding and management of legal, economic and administrative language registers in the native language.
• Application of rhetoric-pragmatic strategies of comprehension and expression in the native language.
• Application of the knowledge of the thematic field of legal, economic and administrative discourse, to the analysis, synthesis and comparison of documents pertaining to it in the working languages.
• Synthesis and evaluation, in a contrastive way, of the data and specialised concepts of the legal, economic and administrative field of the working languages.

• The acquisition of techniques that enable the translation of legal texts, judicial, extrajudicial and legal documents in general, detecting, in each specific case, the most suitable translation strategy.
