Course context for academic year 2019-20

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of usual projects in sworn translation. Application of a professional process of conditioning analysis, inference of procedures and application of translating competence to these projects. Systematization of conditions and the priorities imposed by translation projects and documents. Assessment of professional sworn translations.

4.1. General objectives  4.1.1. Conceptual objectives 1) Being aware of and understanding the variety of contexts in which the intervention of a sworn translation is required. 4.1.2. Procedural objectives 2) Recognizing and suitablhy applying diverse specialized registers pertaining to legal, economic and administrative language. 3) Recognizing and applying knowledge on discourse and textual organization devices to the understanding and expression of specialized texts of legal, administrative and economic language. 4) Recognizing and suitably using various specialized registers in the drafting of sworn translations. 5) Recognizing and apllying knowledge on discourse and textual organization devices to the expression and assessment of sworn translation. 6) Summarizing complex concepts in an accurate, organized way in the drafting of sworn translation. 7) Applying documentary techiques to problem-solving in sworn translation. 8) Applying advanced translation competence to the translation of usual texts in the field of sworn translation. 4.1.3. Attitudinal aims 9) Actively showing a commitment to the ethical principles of the professional community in the legal, economic and administrative spheres. 10) Being aware of and applying a gender perspective to translation, fostering the use of inclusive language.
