Course context for academic year 2017-18

La importancia creciente de las células madre tanto en investigación biomédica como en medicina regenerativa justifica la inclusión en el plan de estudios del Máster de una asignatura específicamente dedicada a estos temas. En esta materia el alumno adquirirá una amplia serie de conocimientos sobre los distintos tipos de células madre existentes (embrionarias, adultas, pluripotentes inducidas, etc.) y su utilidad tanto terapéutica como en investigación en Biomedicina. Se hará especial énfasis a la hora de abordar las numerosas estrategias terapéuticas actualmente disponibles, así como en fase de investigación, aplicables a enfermedades neurodegenerativas del cerebro y de la retina.

  • CEBM16 : Understand the therapeutic targets of pharmaceutical products and the evolution of the same over time in the organism.
  • CEBM19 : Understand the biological significance of the stem cell concept, its types and possible therapeutic applications.
  • CEBM20 : Be aware of the possibilities of regenerative medicine as a future therapy.

Competencias del módulo optativo de libre elección de Biomedicina

  • CEBM16 : Conocer las dianas terapéuticas de los fármacos y la evolución temporal de los mismos. Habituar al alumno al método científico utilizado en las ciencias biomédicas.
  • CEBM19 : Conocer el significado biológico del concepto de célula madre, sus tipos y las posibles aplicaciones terapéuticas.
  • CEBM20 : Conocer las posibilidades de la medicina regenerativa como futura terapia.
