Course context for academic year 2018-19

Introduction to the study of the supernatural in English Literature. This course is an approach to the social, psychoanalytical, religious and aesthetic dimensions of the literary representation of the supernatural, focusing on a variety of historical and philosophical contexts through a selection of authors and texts.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Acquire the methodology and resources needed for literary research.
  • CG2 : Acquire specific advanced knowledge (regarding those acquired in the degree course) of the subjects studied.
  • CG3 : Acquire specific knowledge of the subjects studied for its professional application in the field of teaching.

 

Specific Competences:>>Conceptual knowledge / theoretical frameworks

  • CE2 : Understand the new content proposed for literature courses.
  • CE3 : Understand the methodological procedures used to analyse literary texts.
  • CE4 : Reflect on recurring themes and motifs in literature.
  • CE6 : Acquire the philological resources needed to carry out literary research work (critical editing, bibliographic searches, databases, quotation systems, etc.).

  • CE12 : Carry out self-guided bibliographic searches using both electronic and traditional resources.
