Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2021-22

The final Dissertation/Project of the Undergraduate Programmes (belonging to the Faculty of Health Sciences: Nursing and Nutrition) will be held in the last year of the degree (fourth year) specifically in two courses directly related (planned at the final two semesters). In order to unify criteria and procedures that ensure homogeneity in the organization and evaluation of the Final Dissertation/Project, a Rulebook was developed at the University of Alicante (approved on 30th of October, 2012) and later adapted to the characteristics of the healthcare degrees (and approved again by The Faculty of Health Sciences Board).

The Final Dissertation/Project is an original and personal research work/study which may be individual and coordinated, and that each student will develop under the guidance of a mentor. The Final Dissertation will allowe the display of integrated training contents and skills/capabilities associated with specific healthcare professional topics. It is important to remark that the Final Dissertation/Project is protected by the Copyright Act Law.

From the Faculty of Health Sciences, groups (total of: 20 groups) have been organized to establish dissertation guidelines: 12 groups at the Department of Nursing; 6 groups belonging to the Department of Community Nursing and Preventive Medicine and Public Health and History of Science; 2 groups at the Health Psychology Department. The student will be assigned to one of these groups through the enrollment process, in which their preferences will be taking into account. Finally, each department will determine the assignment mentor-student.
