Teaching Visual Expression subject is part of the Degree in Primary Speciality curriculum, developed at the university sphere. The educational activity of this subject consists of a combination of theory and praxis focused on perception and visual representation.
Both in practice and in theory, the students should acquire basic knowledge of visual and plastic language, general characteristics and fundamental aspects of its syntax and semantics, and deep analysis of children's plastic language, knowledge properly adapted to their future activity as Primary school teachers.
The aim of the course is to develop the students’ expressive and creative abilities through the study of visual and plastic language. It´s also aimed to develop educational and methodological aspects and guidelines for primary school children work analysis. Future teachers must be sensitive and aware of the importance of culture, as well as their teaching contributions and educational outreach.
