Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2025-26

The course Mathematical Foundations of Engineering II aims to introduce students to the basic ideas and techniques of differential calculus of several real variables from a highly practical perspective, exploring their use and applications. An introduction to vector analysis and differential geometry of plane curves will also be provided.

A sufficient knowledge of these elements will result in a better understanding of other subjects taught in the degree program and will serve as a basis for future expansion or deepening of the mathematical knowledge acquired. Furthermore, as with any other branch of mathematics, learning these concepts will contribute to the development of a scientific working method based on logical order and precision.
