Course context for academic year 2018-19

Los sistemas de información ya no se ven como elementos aislados, sino como componentes de redes informáticas en las que el procesamiento de la información se realiza mediante el modelo clientes/servidor. El concepto de sistema operativo en red (SOR) ha evolucionado, desde el más simple, que consideraba un SOR como un sistema operativo al que se le añadía un sistema de comunicación, hasta el actual en el que un sistema operativo en red es un conjunto distribuido de software e infraestructuras orientadas a un objetivo único. El concepto actual de SOR está basado en la arquitectura cliente/servidor, más concretamente, en la arquitectura Middleware, cuya finalidad básica es hacer que una aplicación o usuario cliente acceda a una serie de servicios sin preocuparse de las infraestrucutas sobre las que realmetne esté actuando.
