Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2017-18

 

La asignatura “Políticas sociales y Trabajo Social”, conforma con cinco asignaturas más, el Módulo B de la memoria de Grado denominado “El contexto institucional del Trabajo Social”. Este módulo está compuesto por dos Materias relacionadas entre sí, B1 (Servicios Sociales) y B2 (Políticas Sociales y Trabajo Social). En el ámbito de la materia B2, encontramos dos asignaturas posteriores a “Políticas Sociales y Trabajo Social”, “Intervención del Trabajo Social en las Políticas Sociales” (6 ECTS, Obligatoria, tercer curso) e “International Social Work. Social Services and Social Policy” (6 ECTS, Optativa). En ese sentido, asignaturas dentro de la materia B2, se coordinan tanto en contenidos, objetivos y competencias, para cumplir con lo establecido en el Grado de Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Alicante.

Esta asignatura contribuye de manera esencial al desarrollo de las competencias generales y específicas en el Grado de Trabajo Social. La necesaria contextualización del ejercicio profesional en el marco de las diferentes Políticas Públicas y Sociales, así como la gran importancia que tiene conocer los diferentes sistemas de bienestar y protección social desde una perspectiva histórica y comparada, permite al/la futuro/a trabajador/a social desarrollar las competencias necesarias para trabajar y valorar de manera conjunta con personas, familias, grupos, organizaciones y comunidades sus necesidades y circunstancias, así como analizar situaciones-problema, planificar, desarrollar, ejecutar, revisar y evaluar la práctica del Trabajo Social.

Además, la asignatura aporta elementos claves para la valoración de las necesidades y opciones posibles en la orientación de una estrategia de intervención, contribuyendo de manera esencial a la promoción de las mejores prácticas del Trabajo Social participando en el desarrollo y análisis de las políticas que se implementan.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Capacity to work together with individuals, families, groups, organisations and communities to evaluate their needs and circumstances.
  • CG2 : Analyse problem situations, plan, develop, execute, review and evaluate the practice of Social Work with individuals, families, groups, organisations, communities and other professionals.
  • CG6 : Demonstrate professional competence when carrying out Social Work.
  • CG7 : Capacity to contribute to the development of fundamental rights, equal opportunities for men and women, the principles of equal opportunities and universal accessibility for the disabled, as well as the values associated with a peaceful culture with democratic values.

 

General Competences acquired at University of Alicante (CGUA)

  • CGUA1 : Foreign language skills. In accordance with said standard, foreign language skills are considered to be obtained by proving the necessary level. The University of Alicante considers it necessary to pass at least Level 1 of the European Reference Framework for modern languages and Level B2 is recommended. The minimum Level B1 is regarded as transitory and can be adjusted when seen fit. Levels must be accredited prior to registering the End of Degree Thesis.
  • CGUA2 : Computer and information skills. Capacity to apply computer and information technologies in one's professional career.
  • CGUA3 : Oral and written communication skills. Capacity to communicate ideas orally and in writing so that individuals, families, groups, communities and organisations can understand them.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE12 : Design, implement and evaluate social intervention projects.
  • CE25 : Contribute towards the promotion of best practices in Social Work by participating in the development and analysis of the policies implemented.
  • CE3 : Evaluate possible needs and options to guide an intervention strategy.
  • CE6 : Prepare, produce, implement and evaluate intervention plans with individuals, families, groups, organisations, communities and fellow professionals, negotiating the supply of services that need to be used and checking the effectiveness of intervention plans with those involved in order to adapt them to changing needs and circumstances.
