Course context for academic year 2019-20

El estudio del impacto de las actividades económicas sobre el medio ambiente con especial mención al cambio climático, a la gestión de recursos naturales, los residuos, demografía, la pobreza, el nivel de vida etc. y el estudio de las teorías medio ambientales y ecológicas y las politicas medioambientales desde los organismos nacionales e internacionales. Asi como también las políticas Medo ambientales y el impacto de los distintos sectores económicos en el Medio Ambiente

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Capacity to find and analyse information.
  • CG3 : Capacity for self-learning.
  • CG8 : Analyse problems using critical reasoning, without prejudices, precisely and rigorously.
  • CG9 : Capacity for synthesis.

 

General Competences acquired at University of Alicante (CGUA)

  • CGUA2 : Use computer, I.T. and communications technology tools as a matter of course in all of one's professional activities.
  • CGUA3 : Capacity for oral and written communication.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Contribute towards the correct management of resource allocation in both the private and public context.
  • CE10 : Capacity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to solve theoretical and applied economic problems.
  • CE12 : Be able to use the appropriate tools for the analysis, diagnosis and solution of economic questions and problems.
  • CE4 : Evaluate the consequences of different options for action and select the best one according to the objectives set.

 

 

 

Learning outcomes (Training objectives)

The basic aim of this subject is that students should develop the knowledge and skills to approach environmental problems from a social-economic viewpoint, supported by basic concepts of environmental economics and ecology.

The specific aims of the course are:

- To understand the environmental impact of economic activities.

- To critically interpret a range of theories on the relationship between the economy and the environment:  conventional approach, critical approach, other approaches.

- To acquire the skills necessary to relate economics to other sciences.
