Course context for academic year 2017-18

La Teoría de Juegos se ha revelado como un instrumento esencial en el análisis económico moderno. En este sentido, desde un enfoque no cooperativo es útil para el diseño de mecanismos y, en consecuencia, para analizar las posibles consecuencias de diversas políticas económicas. De forma similar, el análisis del comportamiento de los agentes económicos en contextos no-competitivos, tiene un acomodo más realista desde la Teoría de Juegos.

En un contexto cooperativo, la Teoría de Juegos contribuye al análisis de diversas formas de asignar socialmente aceptadas. En esta línea, nociones de estabilidad en los acuerdos permiten evaluar la conveniencia de adoptar ciertos mecanismos de asignación y desechar el empleo de otros sistemas alternativos. De forma similar, valores asociados a una concepción cooperativa de los juegos, contribuyen a estimar el poder asociado a diversas coaliciones, permitiendo anticipar qué colaboraciones son esperables estre diversos agentes.

  • CE11 : Analytical skills for developing theoretical frameworks that simplify study of the real economy and the capacity to set appropriate levels of abstraction when studying different economic questions.
  • CE12 : Be able to use the appropriate tools for the analysis, diagnosis and solution of economic questions and problems.
  • CE2 : Identify and anticipate relevant economic problems relating to resource allocation in general, in both the private and public context.
  • CE3 : Bring a rational approach to the analysis and description of any aspect of economic reality.
  • CE4 : Evaluate the consequences of different options for action and select the best one according to the objectives set.
  • CE9 : Understand economic institutions as the result and application of theoretical or formal representations of how the economy works.
