Course context for academic year 2017-18

Esta asignatura es la segunda asignatura del grado de Economía en la secuencia de Macroeconomía, siendo continuidad de la asignatura Introducción a la Macroeconomía del primer curso, segundo semestre. 

Se encuadra dentro de la materia Análisis Económico. 

El objetivo de esta asignatura es proporcionar al estudiante los conocimientos, teóricos y empíricos, necesarios para comprender y analizar los problemas de las fluctuaciones de económicas para una economía cerrada (sin relaciones con el exterior). En ese contexto se explican los principales problemas (inflación y/o desempleo) a los que las autoridades económicas se pueden enfrentar y los instrumentos de política económica de que disponen para estabilizar la economía. Por último, el análisis a corto plazo se amplia para considerar, de forma sencilla, los aspectos más básicos de una economía abierta.

Learning outcomes (Training objectives)

  • To understand what is probably Keynes’ principal message in his General Theory: the links between an economy’s markets, which determine the behaviour and evolution of macroeconomic variables.
  • To understand the impact of government policies on macroeconomic variables, in both the short and medium terms.
  • To develop the ability to understand certain underlying microeconomic fundaments of macroeconomic variables.
