La Estadística es una herramienta fundamental para el análisis de la información económica y empresarial; de ahí que su enseñanza se incluya en las titulaciones de Administración y Dirección de Empresas de todo el mundo.
La asignatura de Introducción a la Estadística es la primera asignatura de la materia denominada Métodos Cuantitativos: Estadística y Econometría, dentro del Grado en Administración y Dirección de Empresas de la Universidad de Alicante. El objetivo de esta asignatura es proporcionar al estudiante los conocimientos básicos de Estadística Descriptiva que permiten presentar y resumir de manera eficiente la información contenida en un conjunto de datos económicos y empresariales, así como describir los modelos básicos de probabilidad que se utilizan en el análisis económico y empresarial, y mostrar aplicaciones de éstos.
