Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2017-18

El Derecho penitenciario es una asignatura optativa del itinerario 1. Administración de Justicia, que se imparte en el cuarto curso del Grado en Derecho, en su segundo semestre. Su objetivo fundamental es que los estudiantes conozcan el sistema español de ejecución de penas y medidas privativas de libertad, así como de la pena de trabajos en beneficio de la comunidad y de las alternativas a las penas privativas de libertad. Asimismo, es pretensión principal que el alumno adquiera no sólo un conocimiento de la normativa hoy vigente y de las alternativas a la misma, sino también, y esencialmente, una capacidad crítica respecto de los principios que inspiran el ordenamiento penitenciario, y de la política criminal en relación con las penas y medidas penales privativas de libertad, y con las funciones que éstas deben cumplir.

  • CE6 : Capacity to read and interpret legal texts.
  • CE7 : Capacity to write legal documents.
  • CE8 : Master computer techniques for obtaining legal information (legislative, jurisprudential and bibliographical databases) and have the ability to use the Internet to obtain information and communicate data.
