Course context for academic year 2022-23

El estudio de la asignatura de Oceanografía Física en el Grado de Ciencias del Mar se justifica plenamente ya que proporcionará los conocimientos necesarios acerca de las propiedades físicas del medio marino, su medida y evolución espacio- temporal así como su relación con la circulación general de los océanos, balance de energía, forma de la superficie e interacción con la atmósfera y fondos marinos. El aprovechamiento de este curso, estará basado en el desarrollo y aplicación al medio oceánico de los conocimientos adquiridos por el alumno en Física y Mecánica de Fluidos y es fundamental para poder abordar asignaturas de cursos posteriores como Introducción a la Meteorología y/o Ingeniería Costera y Oceánica así como para contribuir a la comprensión de la interacción del medio físico con fenómenos relacionados con la Química, Geología y Biología Marinas

Specific Competences:>>Theoretical

  • CE16 : Conocer e interpretar los factores que influyen en el clima y en el hidrodinamismo marino.
  • CE3 : Understand and apply the basic concepts and laws of Physics.
  • CE5 : Acquire a basic understanding of mathematics (algebra and calculus) and statistics.
  • CE6 : Know and understand the essential facts, concepts, principles and theories related to marine sciences and their relationship with other sciences.
  • CE9 : Acquire knowledge of physics related to fluids and waves, mainly concerned with the atmosphere and ocean.

 

Specific Competences:>>Ability

  • CE20 : Show knowledge and understanding of inductive and deductive methods, the elaboration of hypotheses and experimental design.
  • CE22 : Capacity to gather data (oceanographic, biological, sediment, logical, chemical, etc.), evaluate, process and interpret it as per the theories in use.
  • CE23 : Know how to work on oceanographic campaigns and in the laboratory in a responsible and safe manner, encouraging teamwork.
  • CE27 : Be skilled in the practical use of models, incorporating new data for the validation, improvement and evolution of the same.
