Course context for academic year 2020-21

La Botánica Marina es una asignatura de formativa básica en el Grado de Ciencias del Mar. Su objetivo fundamental es aportar una herramienta para el estudio de la diversidad marina. Por ello, resulta imprescindible para el entendimiento de los organismos y sistemas marinos y litorales, dentro de una perspectiva biológica, ecológica y evolutiva.

La ubicación de esta asignatura en el 2º semestre del 2º curso del Grado permite que el alumnado complete sus conocimientos botánicos que ya ha adquirido de forma introductoria en la asignatura de Botánica del primer semestre. Además, se utilizan los conocimientos básicos aportados por la asignatura generalista de Biología de 1er curso.

El programa de teoría presenta un fuerte componente de ficología completado por un estudio de cormófitos marinos y litorales y, finalmente, una descripción de hábitats y comunidades vegetales litorales y marinos. Estos contenidos se analizan pormenorizadamente en las 12 prácticas de laboratorio y en la salida de campo.

  • CE10 : Understand the different adaptations (morphological, physical, conduct) of living beings in the marine environment.
  • CE13 : Understand basic sampling techniques for water column, seabed and associated organisms, as well as measurement techniques for structural and dynamic variables.
  • CE14 : Acquire knowledge of the different fields of application (resources, planning and management, infrastructures, etc.) of the marine sciences.
  • CE6 : Know and understand the essential facts, concepts, principles and theories related to marine sciences and their relationship with other sciences.
  • CE7 : Understand the structural and functional organisation of marine organisms and their biological diversity.
  • CE8 : Understand the basic principles of ecology, the structure and function of ecosystems, developing it for the marine and coastal environment.

 

Specific Competences:>>Ability

  • CE21 : Use the necessary information and documentation for the separation, identification and cataloguing of marine organisms.
  • CE30 : Be able to carry out standard sampling procedures related to research tasks in the sea and in the laboratory.
