Course context for academic year 2013-14

La Tectónica es la rama de las Ciencias Geológicas que se ocupa de la deformación de la corteza terrestre a una escala regional o global. Esta disciplina relaciona las estructuras geológicas con los movimientos (cinemática) y las fuerzas (dinámica) que las han originado.

La Tectónica es una materia de carácter optativo, pero importante en la formación de un graduado en Geología. Los conocimientos adquiridos en esta asignatura podrán aplicarse en numerosos ámbitos de la actividad profesional (cartografía geológica, geología del subsuelo, recursos naturales, investigación, geología aplicada a la ingeniería, entre otros.
La asignatura está coordinada con el resto de las asignaturas del Grado de Geología, especialmente con las asignaturas de Cartografía Geológica II y III (3er curso), Geología Histórica y Regional (3er curso) y Geología Estructural I y II (3er curso).

  • CG3 : Solve problems effectively.
  • CG4 : Demonstrate the capacity for teamwork.
  • CG7 : Acquire a permanent concern for quality, the environment and health and safety at work, always in the framework of sustainability.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE13 : Understand, identify and represent tectonic structures and the processes that generate them.
  • CE14 : Relate the different types of rock with their geodynamic contexts.
  • CE2 : Understand the structure and composition of the Earth.
  • CE23 : Acquire an adequate understanding of other disciplines that are important for Geology.
  • CE24 : Know how to apply the basic principles of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics to understanding the Earth and geological processes.
  • CE4 : Identify minerals and rocks, as well as the processes that generate them.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA2 : Understand sources of information for Geology and know how to manage them.
  • CGUA4 : Understand English as a foreign language in the field of science.
