Course context for academic year 2019-20

La Geología Aplicada a la Ingeniería permite conocer las necesidades que la Ingeniería tiene de los materiales y procesos geológicos que tienen lugar en la superficie de la Tierra. Ello permite una correcta evaluación de su efecto en los trabajos de ingeniería.

 Los contenidos abordados tienen una estrecha relación con asignaturas geológicas previamente estudiadas por el alumno, como la Petrología, Geomorfología, Prospección Geofísica, etc.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Develop the capacity for analysis, synthesis and critical reasoning.
  • CG3 : Solve problems effectively.
  • CG4 : Demonstrate the capacity for teamwork.
  • CG5 : Learn autonomously.
  • CG8 : Show the ability to transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions in Geology to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE18 : Know how to resolve geological problems in Civil Engineering works.
  • CE22 : Know how to carry out basic and applied research in the different branches of Geology.
  • CE25 : Gather, represent and analyse data using appropriate, field, laboratory and office techniques.
  • CE27 : Evaluate the problems involved in selecting samples, accuracy, precision and uncertainty when gathering, recording and analysing field and laboratory data.
  • CE28 : Know how to interpret and prepare geological maps of different kinds (geological, geomorphological, geoenvironmental, geotechnical, metallogenetic, hydrogeological, etc.), and other methods of representation (stratigraphic columns, geological cross-sections, etc.).
  • CE3 : Identify and characterise the properties of different terrestrial materials using geological methods and their corresponding instrumental techniques.
  • CE34 : Participate in studies of the physical environment in Civil Works and Building.
  • CE35 : Direct and supervise research and reconnaissance surveys, as well as direct and carry out sampling tasks, on-site and laboratory testing.
  • CE37 : Carry out scientific and technical consultancy tasks dealing with geology and geo-mining problems.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA1 : Acquire the computer knowledge needed for storing, analysing, synthesising and modelling the data required for the degree course.
  • CGUA2 : Understand sources of information for Geology and know how to manage them.
