Course context for academic year 2019-20

El Grado en Geología incluye dentro de su programación docente la realización de prácticas externas pre-profesionales curriculares y extracurriculares en entidades colaboradoras (instituciones y empresas públicas o privadas) que desarrollen su actividad en campos afines a la formación impartida en el Grado en Geología. Las "prácticas externas curriculares" de naturaleza optativa y equivalentes a una asignatura de 6 créditos ECTS se ofertan en el cuarto curso (en ambos semestres)

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Develop the capacity for analysis, synthesis and critical reasoning.
  • CG2 : Show ability for efficient and effective management/direction: entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, creativity, organisation, planning, control, decision-making and negotiation.
  • CG3 : Solve problems effectively.
  • CG4 : Demonstrate the capacity for teamwork.

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Acquire the fundamentals of geological terminology, nomenclature, agreements, scales and units.
  • CE23 : Acquire an adequate understanding of other disciplines that are important for Geology.
  • CE25 : Gather, represent and analyse data using appropriate, field, laboratory and office techniques.
  • CE26 : Integrate field and laboratory data with theory, following a sequence of observation, synthesis and modelling.
  • CE27 : Evaluate the problems involved in selecting samples, accuracy, precision and uncertainty when gathering, recording and analysing field and laboratory data.
  • CE29 : Carry out field and laboratory work responsibly and safely, paying adequate attention to risk assessment, access rights, health and safety legislation and environmental impact.
  • CE30 : Understand past, present and future interactions between the natural environment and human beings, as well as analysing and predicting their future.
  • CE36 : Prepare reports and studies dealing with the exploration, research, production, transformation and control of geological and hydrogeological resources.
  • CE40 : Carry out all professional activities associated with Geology and Earth Sciences and their scientific, technical and educational development.
