Course context for academic year 2018-19

La presente asignatura está dedicada al estudio teórico y a la práctica de algunos aspectos concretos del análisis de textos en  castellano. Tiene como objetivo el estudio detallado de los textos con el fin de ofrecer al estudiante de Traducción e Interpretación el instrumental metodológico necesario para que sea capaz de abordar comprensiva y eficazmente el uso de la lengua en sus múltiples manifestaciones.      El primer tema está dedicado a recordar y reforzar teóricamente algunos aspectos fundamentales de la perspectiva textual en lingüística. La problemática en la noción de texto se aborda aquí con este objetivo. Los temas dos, tres y cuatro tratan el problema de la coherencia, la cohesión y la adecuación, en tanto que propiedades caracterizadoras e identificadoras de la organización de la lengua en el nivel textual y discursivo. Estos temas constituyen la materia de las clases teóricas. En los siguientes temas –cinco al diez- se estudian los cinco tipos textuales básicos según el planteamiento secuencial de Adam: la descripción, la narración, la explicación, la argumentación y la conversación. El objetivo es que el estudiante sea capaz de reconocer desde una perspectiva textual y pragmática la estructura, las técnicas y los recursos que caracterizan a cada una de ellas. Se trata, en definitiva, de acercar al estudiante de Traducción e Interpretación al reconocimiento y la práctica de la diversidad textual de manera que conocen y trabajan una tipología textual necesaria para su labor de traductores e intérpretes. Estos temas se abordarán desde una perspectiva práctica en las clases dedicadas a ello.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Ability to communicate in the different working languages: languages A (Catalan/Spanish, Level C2 of the European framework), languages B (Level B2/C1), languages C (Level B1/B2 for languages that are taught in secondary education and Level A2/B1 for those not taught in secondary education) and languages D (Level A1/A2). Ability to communicate (oral and written) is understood to refer to understanding and expression and includes grammatical subcompetence (mastery of the linguistic code), sociolinguistic subcompetence (regulates adaptation to the context and is linked with the linguistic variation occurring according the different register elements), pragmatic subcompetence (related to functional use of the language and mastery of discourse, cohesion and coherence). Communicative competence must include at least two languages and cultures (includes passive and active communication stages, as well as the textual conventions of different working cultures and the corresponding cultural, encyclopaedic and thematic knowledge).

  • CE1.1 : Understand all kinds of texts (oral and written), both general and specialised (languages A, B and C), in the corresponding working language.
  • CE1.2 : Express oneself orally and in writing about general and specialist subjects (languages A, B and C).
  • CE1.3 : Analyse the textual parameters of all kinds of general or specialist text (languages A, B and C).
  • CE1.4 : Revise (languages A and B) all kinds of text (orthography, morphosyntax, style, typography), etc.
  • CE1.5 : Synthesise the information from documents of several types of text.
  • CE1.6 : Produce oral and written texts adapted to the communication function, type of register, etc.

1. Reconocer las propiedades del texto como distintas formas de manifestarse el lenguaje en relación con el cumplimiento de objetivos comunicativos

2. Distinguir los tipos textuales y ponerlos en relación con las posibilidades expresivas y de organización  del lenguaje.

3. Reconstruir o recuperar la información, tanto explícita como implícita, que el texto suministra a los oyentes, en nuestro caso lectores, para su correcta interpretación

4. Ser Crítico: Iniciar al traductor, individuo social, a adoptar una actitud crítica sobre la multitud de textos.

5. Dotar al futuro traductor de los sustentos teóricos y las herramientas prácticas que le permitan identificar las intenciones del productor textual y predecir el proceso de comprensión a partir del material verbal que constituye el texto.
