Course context for academic year 2010-11

La asignatura Literatura española del Realismo y Naturalismo ofrece a los estudiantes una formación teórica y práctica sobre las obras de los principales escritores españoles realistas y naturalistas, así como la caracterización ideológica y estética de ambos movimientos artísticos del siglo XIX.

Generic Degree Course Competences

  • CG1 : Capacity to master the key theories, perspectives and conceptualisations for building the theoretical framework of the linguistic, cultural and literary disciplines applied to the Spanish language and its literature as an expert on the subject in one's different professional profiles.

  • CUA3 : Be able to express oneself orally and in writing in one's discipline in one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia.

 

Specific Competences (CE):>>Conceptual

  • CC13 : Capacity to understand the characteristics and evolution of the movements and literary trends in Spanish as manifestations of artistic and creative activity in the Spanish language as individuals aware of the role of said manifestations in the construction of thought.
  • CC14 : Be able to understand the role of the movements and trends of the literary genres in the Spanish language in the construction of classical and contemporary literary thinking and evaluate their impact on society.

 

Specific Competences (CE):>>Procedural

  • CP19 : Capacity to identify currents of literary criticism, their categories, concepts and anomenclature, as a basic tool for developing the ability to analyse and criticise text (literary, cinematographic, advertising, etc.), as regards the creative manifestation and reflection of the sociocultural context.
  • CP20 : Capacity to use the pertinent materials and resources: bibliographic repertories, dictionaries, works of reference, critical editions, translations and ICTs as an independent learner able to control one's own learning process and make the corresponding independent progress.
  • CP21 : Be able to explain and argue the theoretical and practical content of Spanish language and literature as one who understands and transmits this knowledge, as well as giving oral and written advice on the knowledge acquired.

 

Specific Competences (CE):>>Attitude

  • CA22 : Be able to value and take advantage of multilingualism and multiculturalism as a social agent participating in the construction of a plural and tolerant society on the basis of the multicultural configuration of the Spanish-speaking world.
  • CA23 : Be able to show a critical and self-critical attitude during the learning process.
  • CA24 : Capacity to demonstrate social commitment to the equality of men and women, the plural and diverse nature of modern society, peace and democracy.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2010-11

4.1. Objetivos generales ¿ 1. Capacidad para utilizar como usuario las herramientas básicas en las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación. ¿ 2. Capacidad de expresarse correctamente por escrito y oralmente en la lengua española. ¿ 3. Adquirir un conocimiento panorámico de la literatura española del periodo del Realismo y el Naturalismo en el contexto de la sociedad y la cultura de su época. 4.1.1. Objetivos conceptuales ¿ 4. Adquirir un conocimiento panorámico de la literatura en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, en el contexto de la sociedad, la cultura y la ciencia de la época. ¿ 5. Conocimiento de la estética realista-naturalista, tal como la han ido definiendo los propios escritores y la crítica coetánea y posterior. ¿ 6. Establecer las correspondencias creativas entre los géneros literarios, la fluctuación de las barreras entre los mismos, y sus relaciones dialécticas en la sucesión histórica del periodo especificado. ¿ 7. Adquirir un conocimiento suficiente de los principales autores, tendencias y obras de la literatura española en el periodo descrito, en conexión con el discurso del pensamiento y la realidad sociohistórica, así como con las corrientes más influyentes de la literatura universal. ¿ 8. Efectuar calas de lectura y análisis crítico en diferentes obras de la secuencia literaria acotada. ¿ 9. Reconocer los temas fundamentales de la literatura de la Restauración. 4.1.2. Objetivos procedimentales ¿ 10. Leer, analizar y valorar aquellas obras relevantes por su condición artística y por su representatividad respecto al mundo de valores y de opciones estéticas vigentes en el periodo histórico especificado. 4.1.3. Objetivos actitudinales ¿ 11. Reflexionar, a partir de los textos teóricos esbozados por los propios novelistas, sobre el género novela. ¿ 12. Reflexionar acerca de las polémicas literarias habidas entre los defensores del realismo y sus detractores. ¿ 13. Reflexionar, a partir de los textos históricos, sobre la sociedad y la cultura de la España de la Restauración, atendiendo fundamentalmente al los principios del positivismo y el krausismo. ¿ 14. Reflexionar sobre los procesos diacrónicos de sucesión literaria en el marco propuesto y las relaciones de los escritores españoles con los de otras culturas, así como de la literatura con otras manifestaciones estéticas.
