Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2019-20

     LATÍN Y LENGUAS EUROPEAS objetiva el legado lingüístico de la cultura expresada en lengua latina en la cultura Occidental a lo largo de su historia. Para ello, focaliza su interés en el léxico y, utilizando éste como eje vertebrador, suministra al alumnado las herramientas, bases teóricas y métodos que le permitan en el futuro la adecuada valoración y aprovechamiento de la tradición clásica en las lenguas, literaturas y culturas de su especialidad.

     La asignatura, por tanto, incide directamente en los fundamentos de las lenguas europeas, cuando éstas acceden a la categoría de ‘lenguas de cultura’, concurriendo en esta formación con la asignatura LA LENGUA GRIEGA: ORÍGENES Y EVOLUCIÓN. Forma parte de la formación básica en Lengua Clásica que deben superar los alumnos de las lenguas románicas completándose en el 2º curso con la asignatura LATÍN Y LENGUAS ROMÁNICAS. Asimismo, en los grados de lenguas modernas es posible cursar éstas asignaturas en calidad de Segunda lengua.

        En consecuencia LATÍN Y LENGUAS EUROPEAS posibilita que el alumnado entronque la lengua de su disciplina con el legado lingüístico esencial en las lenguas occidentales: el de las lenguas clásicas y, concretamente, con el legado de la lengua de Roma.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG3 : Capacity to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques.
  • CG6 : Ability to acquire basic training in one of the two classical languages (Latin or Greek).
  • CG7 : Social commitment to the equality of men and women, the plurality and diversity of the realities of modern society, to peace and democracy.

 

General Competences acquired at University of Alicante (CGUA)

  • CGUA2 : Ability to use basic ICT tools at user level.
  • CGUA3 : Ability to communicate effectively and have linguistic understanding of one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia (Spanish or Catalan) in their discipline.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE10 : Capacity to use the pertinent resources and materials for self-learning (bibliographies, dictionaries, reference works, terminological works, tutorials, new technologies) and transmit the information in the Catalan language.
  • CE11 : Be able to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques, formulate working hypotheses, demonstrate them with arguments and reach conclusions, as well as recognise and ensure the textual coherence (structure of the text, organisation of ideas, progression of information, use of keywords), to explain and argue any subject related to Catalan language and literature, thus achieving the role of expert, transmitter and adviser regarding the knowledge acquired.
  • CE12 : Capacity to understand, value and take advantage of multilingualism with an attitude favouring the standardisation of Catalan, to participate in cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as promoting it to ensure the better social development of the language.
  • CE9 : Capacity to identify the currents of literary criticism, their categories, concepts and nomenclature as a key factor in the development of the capacity to criticise and analyse text (literary, cinematographic, advertising), as regards the creative manifestation and reflection of the sociocultural context.

 

DEGREE IN FRENCH STUDIES

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE11 : Capacity to use pertinent resources and materials: bibliographic repertories, reference works and the new ICTs as an autonomous learner able to control the learning process and progress independently in it.
  • CE12 : Capacity to respect, value and take advantage of multilingualism and multiculturalism as a social agent participating in building a plural and tolerant society on the basis of the multicultural configuration of the Francophone world.
  • CE13 : Understand one of the second languages offered on the degree course.
  • CE14 : Capacity to interpret and analyse the main stages, movements, writers and works of the Literature of a second language.
  • CE15 : Acquire level B1 of the CEFR in one of the second languages offered on the degree course.
  • CE6 : Capacity to analyse and criticise literary texts as a creative manifestation and reflection of the sociocultural context.
  • CE9 : Capacity to interpret, produce and develop explanatory and explicative academic documents and technical reports associated with the discipline.
