Course context for academic year 2019-20

Aquesta assignatura obligatòria d'especialitat se situa en la matèria del mòdul d'especialitat "Llengua catalana: sincronia i diacronia" del Grau en Filologia Catalana, juntament amb "Fonètica i fonologia catalanes", "Sociolingüística catalana", "Els parlars catalans" i "Orígens i evolució de la llengua catalana" de tercer curs; "Sintaxi catalana" i "Semàntica i lexicologia catalana" de quart; i "Fonaments de la norma lingüística catalana" de segon i "Història social de la llengua catalana" de primer curs. Amb "Fonètica i fonologia catalanes", "Sintaxi catalana" i "Semàntica i lexicologia catalanes" representen  l’estudi aprofundit dels subsistemes lingüístics, amb un grau de reflexió important pel que fa a la felxió gramatical (nominal, pronominal i verbal) i a la formació de mots.
Aquesta assignatura proveeix una formació fonamental per a les futures tasques professionals en què prenga part el català (docència, traducció, assessorament lingüístic i literari, planificació lingüística, etc.).

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Capacity to master the key theories, perspectives and conceptualisations for constructing the theoretical framework of linguistic and literary disciplines applied to Catalan language and literature as an expert on the subject and in different professional profiles.
  • CG2 : Capacity to understand the role of language in the construction of human beings as active members of a linguistic and cultural community and relate this to the function of individuals in society.
  • CG3 : Capacity to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques.
  • CG4 : Capacity to manage and use the resources provided by the information and communications technologies and apply those to the language and literature industries.
  • CG7 : Social commitment to the equality of men and women, the plurality and diversity of the realities of modern society, to peace and democracy.

 

General Competences acquired at University of Alicante (CGUA)

  • CGUA2 : Ability to use basic ICT tools at user level.
  • CGUA3 : Ability to communicate effectively and have linguistic understanding of one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia (Spanish or Catalan) in their discipline.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Capacity to communicate in the Catalan language in communicative situations (oral and written), allowing fluid communication in the professional and academic areas in which the student will be working in the future, taking into account his/her knowledge of the historical, social, cultural and artistic reality of his/her context.
  • CE10 : Capacity to use the pertinent resources and materials for self-learning (bibliographies, dictionaries, reference works, terminological works, tutorials, new technologies) and transmit the information in the Catalan language.
  • CE11 : Be able to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques, formulate working hypotheses, demonstrate them with arguments and reach conclusions, as well as recognise and ensure the textual coherence (structure of the text, organisation of ideas, progression of information, use of keywords), to explain and argue any subject related to Catalan language and literature, thus achieving the role of expert, transmitter and adviser regarding the knowledge acquired.
  • CE12 : Capacity to understand, value and take advantage of multilingualism with an attitude favouring the standardisation of Catalan, to participate in cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as promoting it to ensure the better social development of the language.
  • CE2 : Capacity to understand morphological, syntactic, phonetic and lexico-semantic characteristics to use, transmit and apply knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Catalan in oral and written forms.
  • CE3 : Capacity to understand the pragmatic, textual and discursive characteristics of the Catalan language to use, transmit and apply knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Catalan in oral and written forms.
  • CE4 : Ability to understand and analyse the variants of the diachronic, diatopic and diastratic register in the Catalan language, recognising the value and richness of variation as the heritage of the Valencian, Catalan and Balearic people.
  • CE5 : Capacity to understand the history of the Catalan language through texts and the social, cultural and political changes to understand historical, social and cultural processes over time.
  • CE6 : Ability to use the standard model (and the different sub-standards) of the Catalan language, as well as understanding and knowing how to apply lexical creation and innovation mechanisms to adapt oneself to the communication needs of the modern world.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2019-20

Objectius formatius:
1. Explicar els elements constitutius de la morfologia del català segons una perspectiva sincrònica.
2. Fer servir l’estudi de la morfologia del català en l’àmbit de la lingüística aplicada (específicament, codificació i estandardització, terminologia i neologia, ensenyament de la llengua, traducció i gramàtica comparada).
3. Explicar a) la variació morfològica com a adaptació del sistema lingüístic a les necessitats comunicatives, cognitives i socials dels parlants i b) el model morfològic estàndard com a eina fonamental per a difusió de l’ús social de les llengües.
4. Fer servir  adequadament les eines bàsiques per al desenvolupament l’activitat científica en l’estudi de la morfologia del català; concretament, quant a l’àmbit de la lingüística: a) l’anàlisi del processos morfològics, segons els corrents teòrics de la morfologia més importants, i b) la bibliografia i les fonts documentals bàsiques;  i quant a les habilitats intel•lectuals fonamentals: a) la recaptació, el tractament  i la interpretació de les dades, b) l’elaboració i la comprovació d’hipòtesis de treball, c) l’extracció de conclusions, etc.
5. Expressar-se oralment i per escrit en un registre formal adequat per a l’àmbit acadèmic.

Objectius específics aportats pel professorat:

1. Explicar els conceptes bàsics relacionats amb la morfologia.
2. Descriure la varietat col•loquial i les propostes normatives per a fixar la varietat estàndard personal de cada alumne i identificar els trets d’altres varietats formals del català.
3. Comparar els fenòmens de la morfologia catalana amb els d’altres llengües.
4. Conéixer la flexió nominal del català i ser capaç d’analitzar morfològicament noms i adjectius.
5. Analitzar morfològicament els pronoms personals forts i els febles en català.
6. Saber explicar les regles de la flexió verbal i les principals irregularitats del català.
7. Saber explicar els processos morfològics que permeten crear paraules noves en català.
8. Atés un context en què cal avaluar un fenomen morfològic, explicar-lo segons el corrent de la lingüística que millor s’hi adiga i aplicar-hi críticament la informació que en fornirà la bibliografia, els corpora textuals, el diccionaris i altres fonts morfològiques i els atles lingüístics.
9. Atés un context en què cal avaluar un fenomen morfològic, ser capaç de recaptar, tractar i interpretar les dades, d’elaborar i comprovar hipòtesis de treball i d’extraure conclusions.
10. Fer servir correctament i amb eficàcia comunicativa la normativa (especialment la pronúncia però també l’ortografia, la gramàtica, la lexicosemàntica i la fraseologia) que regula l’ús de la llengua en el registre formal de l’àmbit acadèmic, sobretot dels textos expositivoargumentatius (en el canal oral: exposició, debat i entrevista; en el registre escrit: informe i treball acadèmic.
11. Fer servir correctament les convencions ortotipogràfiques del registre formal escrit de l’àmbit acadèmic.
