Course context for academic year 2017-18

Economía Mundial del Turismo es una asignatura orientada a dotar a los estudiantes de los instrumentos básicos y conocimientos necesarios para la comprensión e interpretación del fenómento turístico desde una perspectiva económica internacional. Se consideran las múltiples variables que puedan influir en la actividad junto a la valoración de sus costes y beneficios, con herramientas analíticas y metodológicas adecuadas a través de las fuentes y registros de información más relevantes. Especial interés tendrá el proceso de globalización en sus distintas vertientes y su relación con la realidad económica, los flujos turísticos internacionales, la nueva economía o economía del conocimiento y la dinámica mundial de las empresas del sector, el impacto de la tecnología y los movimientos de capitales.


La asignatura Economía Mundial del Turismo se relaciona con “Economía Mundial” y “Estructura de Mercados”, impartidas en el Grado de Turismo y en TADE, sirviendo de complemento de ambas, presentando aspectos de la economía mundial de forma aplicada al sector turístico para facilitar al alumno la comprensión de la teoría económica y asentar sus conocimientos sobre el mercado.

  • CGUA3 : Oral and written communication skills: Be able to express oneself correctly in one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia in one's discipline.

  • CE23 : Analyse the impacts generated by tourism.
  • CE27 : Understand the working of tourist destinations, structures and business sectors worldwide.
  • CE7 : Recognise the main tourist agents.
  • CE8 : Evaluate tourist potential and the prospective analysis of exploiting it.
  • CE9 : Analyse, synthesise, and critically summarise the net worth financial information of tourist organisations.
