Course context for academic year 2017-18

La asignatura Memoria y usos públicos de la historia contempla una aproximación a los elementos teóricos y metodológicos básicos de los  conceptos de memoria histórica, identidades e imaginarios colectivos y su relación con la historia, así como los usos públicos de la historia, políticas del pasado y políticas de la memoria. Se analizan, además, las fuentes y los soportes para la reconstrucción de la memoria y su configuración como un nuevo campo historiográfico de marcado carácter interdisciplinar, atendiendo especialmente a los actuales debates que en el ámbito académico, social y político se han suscitado en torno a la conflictividad, violencia y genocidios del siglo XX.
La asignatura es afín a las restantes asignaturas que configuran el Itinerario 1: “Patrimonio Cultural y  Divulgación de la Historia”, y  tiene vínculos con otras asignaturas de los otros dos itinerarios, como  “Historia y Género”, “Modelos y construcciones históricas en la Antigüedad y en el Medievo”, “Ideas y construcciones históricas en las épocas moderna y contemporánea”, “Historia y Cultura Contemporánea” y “Europa y el Mundo Mediterráneo Contemporáneos: estructuras y dinámicas de cambio”.

  • CG2 : Capacity for analysis and synthesis.

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE2 : Understand the relationship between past and present events, processes and conflicts.
  • CE3 : Capacity to work professionally in the teaching and research of history and in the management of archaeological and historical heritage and cultural resources in modern society.
  • CE4 : Master the use of the most significant concepts, categories, theories and themes of the different branches of historical research (economic, social, political, cultural, gender, etc.), as well as appreciating the importance that the different economic, political, social and cultural contexts have for research.
  • CE6 : Acquire the ability to make critical use of documentary historical sources and information gathering tools (document catalogues and bibliographies, archive inventories, electronic databases, etc.).
  • CE7 : Read, analyse and interpret archaeological records.

OBJETIVOS ESPECÍFICOS APORTADOS POR EL PROFESORADO

  1. Adquirir conocimientos básicos sobre  la memoria y sus relaciones con la historia, el trasfondo social y cultural de los distintos discursos de la memoria histórica y el análisis de los conceptos que articulan esos discursos.
  2. Reconocer y analizar diversos tipos de fuentes y soportes de reconstrucción de la memoria histórica.
  3. Introducción al debate académico, social y político sobre la memoria histórica y la reflexión crítica sobre el pasado desde el presente.
