Course context for academic year 2019-20

Becoming familiar with the historical evolution of bridge building. Roman bridges, medieval bridges, Renaissance bridges, metal bridges, reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed concrete bridges, and large suspension bridges. A discussion will be developed about the reasons for that evolution throughout history. Emphasis will be placed on the closest works geographically speaking.
