Course context for academic year 2012-13

Asignatura en la que se aborda el estudio de la historia de Al-Andalus a partir de la producción histórico-geográfica escrita en árabe. Se traducirán, estudiarán y conocerán las características de las principales obras árabes andalusíes de historiografía, geografía y epigrafía.

Contribuye al perfil del título pues proporciona al alumnado en formación cultural específica sobre esta región del mundo árabe en el pasado, lingüística específica y en crítica literaria de textos medievales.

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Understand the key theories of the disciplines associated with Arab and Islamic Studies and apply them in practice to be able to operate appropriately in the different professional profiles accessible through the degree qualification or undertake further studies with a high level of autonomy.
  • CE10 : Understand the original space of Islam, its expansion and the basic points of reference regarding religion and historical and social evolution in Islamic and its host societies, to understand and interpret the different cultural, literary, artistic and philosophical materials produced by Islamic culture.
  • CE11 : Interpret the social and political history of the Arab world to understand and interpret the role of social and political phenomena in the construction of classical and contemporary thinking.
  • CE5 : Capacity to interpret, produce and develop academic descriptions and arguments and/or technical reports related to the professional contexts that can be accessed with the degree qualification.
  • CE9 : Analyse and interpret historical, geographical, religious and scientific texts and discourses in Arabic, using appropriate techniques for analysis.

 

Transversal Competences

  • CGUA2 : Be able to use basic ICT tools at user level.
  • CGUA3 : Be able to express oneself correctly in one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia in one's discipline.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2012-13

Objetivos formativos específicos:
    Conocimiento y diferenciación clara de la estructura del nombre árabe, de los títulos árabes y de la cronología islámica.
    Comprensión, síntesis y análisis de los principales sucesos y procesos históricos de la historia de los sucesivos estados que se sucedieron en Al-Andalus (711-1492).
    Comprensión, síntesis y análisis de los principales géneros y de las principales obras de la literatura histórica y geográfica escritos en Al-Andalus.
    Adquisición de las destrezas necesarias para la traducción de estos textos árabes, así como para la realización del comentario de texto de los mismos.
    Se hará una crítica y comentario de estos escritos para formar al alumnado acerca de los diversos modos de manipulación de la realidad en el pasado.
    Conocimiento básico acerca de la epigrafía y la numismática andalusí.
