Course context for academic year 2019-20

Cuidados de Enfermería del Adulto II (27025) es una asignatura obligatoria del Grado en Enfermería, que se sitúa en el plan de estudios en el primer semestre del tercer curso. Esencialmente, esta asignatura se coordina verticalmente con las asignaturas Fisiopatología (27009), Fundamentos de Enfermería II (27013) y Cuidados de Enfermería del Adulto I (27019). Horizontalmente la coordinación se da con las asignaturas Practicum VII: Cuidados de Enfermería del Adulto II (27026), Practicum VIII: Cuidados de Enfermería del Adulto II (27027) y Practicum IX: Cuidados de Enfermería del Adulto II (27028).

Cuidados de Enfermería del Adulto II se ha estructurado de forma que ofrece al estudiante una visión integradora de las diferentes áreas de estudio y a la vez ordenada, con el fin de que el aprendizaje sea gradual, progresivo y acumulativo, y así, el estudiante pueda recibir, asimilar, analizar, aplicar y evaluar el contenido del programa. En este sentido, el aprendizaje teórico coordinado junto con el aprendizaje práctico/clínico, pensamos que permitirá al alumno alcanzar una formación básica para el inicio de su ejercicio profesional.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2019-20

Adult Nursing Care II attends to students acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to:

  • Recognize and describe the prevalent health disorders in adults that affect the following systems: hematopoietic, lymphatic, immune, integumentary, neurological, sensory, upper respiratory and musculoskeletal.
  • Make nursing assessments holistically to the patients and their families, with heath problems that involve the systems: hematopoietic, lymphatic, immune, integumentary, neurological, sensory, upper respiratory and musculoskeletal.
  • Analyze the collected data in the patient assessments, in order to design, implement and evaluate care plans that address in depth the health problems detected, establishing priority criteria, individualization, and performance of the nurse in the different scenarios.
  • Perform nursing procedures indicated for patient care, by using simulation models in the laboratory, according to established protocols and applying security measures and quality standards in force.
  • Plan healthy lifestyles and self-care, which promote preventive and therapeutic behaviors in adults.
  • Help to detect the harmful effects of the environment on health and the harmful effects of the actions of people in the environment.
  • Improve and maintain a safe environment for all people receiving health care.
  • Provide and update information on the importance of a safe environment and its importance in daily life.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care related to patient safety.
