Course context for academic year 2018-19

Esta asignatura pertenece al Modulo Avanzado del Grado en Biología y se oferta en el séptimo semestre, correspondiente al cuarto curso de la Titulación, dentro del itinerario Biología Ambiental. Es una materia, por tanto, optativa de 6 ECTS.

La Ecofisiología vegetal es una disciplina experimental que trata de describir los mecanismos fisiológicos que subyacen a las observaciones ecológicas, en este caso, de las plantas. En otras palabras, la Ecofisiología aborda cuestiones ecológicas acerca del control del crecimiento, reproducción, supervivencia, abundancia o distribución geográfica de las plantas desde el punto de vista de que estos procesos son el resultado de las interacciones que establecen las plantas con su ambiente físico, químico y biótico. En su vertiente aplicada, especialmente en plantas de uso agrícola y forestal, permite la valoración de distintos genotipos, poblaciones y variedades para diferentes usos, así como estudiar los medios para incrementar la producción de los vegetales.

Es una disciplina claramente integradora que nos permite explicar las relaciones ecológicas observadas en las plantas a partir de conocimientos de fisiología, bioquímica, biofísica y biología molecular.

Esta asignatura no presenta incompatibilidades, aunque para su mejor aprovechamiento se recomienda que los estudiantes hayan superado las asignaturas Fisiología Vegetal I: Nutrición, Transporte y Metabolismo y Fisiología del Desarrollo Vegetal, para las cuales sirve, además de complemento formativo.

  • CE19 : Study animal and plant anatomy and morphology.
  • CE22 : Analyse and interpret the development, growth and biological cycles of living beings.
  • CE23 : Analyse the components of the physical environment: hydric, atmospheric and terrestrial and their relationship with the biotic environment.
  • CE25 : Relate the different interactions between species in the working of ecosystems.
  • CE9 : Identify organisms and interpret the diversity of species in the environment, as well as their origin, evolution and behaviour.

  • CE29 : Show knowledge and understanding of the essential facts, concepts, principles and theories related to the areas of Biology.
  • CE30 : Interpret, evaluate, process and synthesis Biological data and information.
  • CE31 : Recognise and implement good scientific practices for measurement and experimentation.
  • CE35 : Interpret data gathered from observation and measurement in the laboratory and the field.
  • CE36 : Prepare, present and defend scientific and technical reports both in writing and orally to an audience.
  • CE37 : Ability to find, analyse, understand and write scientific and technical texts.
