Course context for academic year 2017-18

Petrología Aplicada es una asignatura Optativa del primer cuatrimestre del cuarto curso del grado de Geología y está enmarcada en el Módulo Avanzado.

Se trata de una asignatura en la que el alumno adquiere el conocimiento de las relaciones entre el comportamiento petrofísico de las rocas y sus características petrológicas; así como comprende el comportamiento de trasporte de fluidos y mecánica de las rocas. Se hará hincapié en conocer las técnicas que se utilizan en la caracterización petrofísica, los procesos físicos en los que se basan, así como sus límites de aplicabilidad y las normas con las que se operan. Los conceptos estudiados en la asignatura se aplicarán a los sectores de la piedra natural, mecánica de rocas y conservación del patrimonio arquitectónico construido en roca. Finalmente, se desarrollará en los estudiantes actitudes, metodología y hábito de trabajo en el laboratorio e introducirlo a la investigación.

La asignatura está coordinada con el resto de las asignaturas del Grado de Geología, especialmente con Petrología Ígnea y Metamórfica (3er curso), Petrología Sedimentaria (3er curso), Geoquímica y Prospección Geoquímica (3er curso) y Geología Aplicada a la Ingeniería (4º curso).

  • CE3 : Identify and characterise the properties of different terrestrial materials using geological methods and their corresponding instrumental techniques.
  • CE37 : Carry out scientific and technical consultancy tasks dealing with geology and geo-mining problems.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA1 : Acquire the computer knowledge needed for storing, analysing, synthesising and modelling the data required for the degree course.
