La asignatura ESTRATIGRAFÍA pertenece a la materia del título de grado MATERIALES Y PROCESOS GEOLOGICOS que es el cuerpo conocimientos fundamentales de estos estudios. Como ciencia que sostiene doctrinalmente al objeto formal de la Geología es decir, la historia de la Tierra, guarda una estrecha relación con la Paleontología y la Geología Histórica, y desde un punto de vista material con la Sedimentología y la Petrología.

  • CG1 : Develop the capacity for analysis, synthesis and critical reasoning.
  • CG3 : Solve problems effectively.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Acquire the fundamentals of geological terminology, nomenclature, agreements, scales and units.
  • CE10 : Use correlation techniques and interpret them.
  • CE11 : Understand the different geological processes at work on the Planet.
  • CE2 : Understand the structure and composition of the Earth.
  • CE25 : Gather, represent and analyse data using appropriate, field, laboratory and office techniques.
  • CE26 : Integrate field and laboratory data with theory, following a sequence of observation, synthesis and modelling.
  • CE4 : Identify minerals and rocks, as well as the processes that generate them.
  • CE6 : Recognise fossils and their use in dating and interpreting sedimentary material.
  • CE8 : Understand the techniques for dating rocks and geological processes.
  • CE9 : Understand the significance of the time scale in geology, as well as the spatial scale.
