Course context for academic year 2017-18

 

Mineralogía es una asignatura del segundo cuatrimestre del segundo curso del grado de Geología y está enmarcada en el Módulo Fundamental Específico.

La mineralogía es una ciencia basada en el conocimiento preciso de la composición química y de la estructura atómica que caracteriza cada especie mineral, y en el sentido de éstas en el medio geológico. Dada la sensibilidad de los minerales a los cambios fisico-químicos que se producen durante los procesos geológicos, las asociaciones minerales que constituyen las rocas son la memoria de la historia geológica de estas, y por ello, también de la Corteza Terrestre. Es fundamental que al comienzo de unos estudios en Geología se adquiera un conocimiento preciso del concepto de especie mineral y la habilidad para saber identificar correctamente los minerales. Los contenidos desarrollados en la asignatura Mineralogía, proporcionará a los alumnos la formación básica necesaria para los contenidos del resto de asignaturas de los Módulos Fundamental, Complementario y Avanzado.

  • CE16 : Carry out environmental impact assessments of the territory.
  • CE17 : Know how to explore, evaluate, extract and manage terrestrial resources (industrial minerals and rocks, hydrocarbons, water) in a framework of sustainable development.
  • CE26 : Integrate field and laboratory data with theory, following a sequence of observation, synthesis and modelling.
  • CE3 : Identify and characterise the properties of different terrestrial materials using geological methods and their corresponding instrumental techniques.
  • CE30 : Understand past, present and future interactions between the natural environment and human beings, as well as analysing and predicting their future.
  • CE31 : Be aware of the bibliographic resources for Geology.
  • CE36 : Prepare reports and studies dealing with the exploration, research, production, transformation and control of geological and hydrogeological resources.
  • CE4 : Identify minerals and rocks, as well as the processes that generate them.
  • CE5 : Relate the different structures of mineral materials with their properties and uses.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA1 : Acquire the computer knowledge needed for storing, analysing, synthesising and modelling the data required for the degree course.
