Course context for academic year 2018-19

Es una asignatura de introducción general a la Geología. Para los estudiantes de esta asignatura, que cursan el grado de Geología, esta asignatura se complementa con la Geología II del segundo semestre, también del primer curso. Entre ambas, el alumnado adquirirá una visión completa, de carácter introductorio, de lo que es la Geología como Ciencia.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Develop the capacity for analysis, synthesis and critical reasoning.
  • CG2 : Show ability for efficient and effective management/direction: entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, creativity, organisation, planning, control, decision-making and negotiation.
  • CG6 : Show the capacity to adapt to new situations.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Acquire the fundamentals of geological terminology, nomenclature, agreements, scales and units.
  • CE11 : Understand the different geological processes at work on the Planet.
  • CE15 : Understand present environmental processes and any possible risks associated with them.
  • CE3 : Identify and characterise the properties of different terrestrial materials using geological methods and their corresponding instrumental techniques.
  • CE4 : Identify minerals and rocks, as well as the processes that generate them.
  • CE7 : Understand the history of the Earth and of Life from their origins to the present day.
  • CE9 : Understand the significance of the time scale in geology, as well as the spatial scale.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA2 : Understand sources of information for Geology and know how to manage them.
  • CGUA3 : Express oneself correctly, both orally and in writing, in either of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia.
