Course context for academic year 2021-22

Una asignatura de Sedimentología está justificada plenamente dentro de la formación de un científico marino, ya que proporciona los conocimientos necesarios para comprender las características, origen y dinámica de los fondos sedimentarios marinos que, además de su interés intrínseco, constituyen el sustrato de las poblaciones biológicas bentónicas y de un gran número de obras humanas (plataformas petrolíferas offshore, ingeniería marina, etc.).

 

Esta disciplina resulta fundamental para poder comprender y aprovechar adecuadamente asignaturas de cursos posteriores como “Geología marina”, “Recursos marinos”, “Ingeniería costera y oceánica”, “Ordenación del litoral” y “Planctología y micropaleontología marina”.

  • CE11 : Acquire knowledge of internal and external geology, as well as the materials and processes related to geology.
  • CE2 : Acquire a basic understanding of internal and external geological materials and processes.

 

Specific Competences:>>Ability

  • CE22 : Capacity to gather data (oceanographic, biological, sediment, logical, chemical, etc.), evaluate, process and interpret it as per the theories in use.
  • CE23 : Know how to work on oceanographic campaigns and in the laboratory in a responsible and safe manner, encouraging teamwork.
  • CE24 : Capacity to recognise, evaluate and manage marine resources of different types.
  • CE25 : Interpret, characterise and map marine and coastal communities.
  • CE26 : Acquire the ability to design, process information, draft and execute projects related with marine and coastal environments.
