Course context for academic year 2019-20

En un contexto turístico de enorme competitividad, tanto los destinos turísticos ya consolidados como los de incipiente desarrollo o las áreas que poseen recursos con potencialidad para la dinamización turística del territorio, han de emprender procesos de planificación territorial turística, así como desarrollar instrumentos de gestión y técnicas útiles para situarles o mantenerles con ventaja en el complejo mercado turístico.
Partiendo de esta necesidad, esta asignatura se dedica explicar los fundamentos esenciales del proceso de planificación territorial con fines turísticos.

Con una vocación eminentemente aplicada, a lo largo de las sesiones se irán desgranando las bases metodológicas y conceptuales de la planificación, relacionadas con la sostenibilidad y la equidad social, para el más adecuado desarrollo de la actividad turística según su aplicación en distintos ámbitos. Además, se tratarán las distintas formas de abordar la planificación, para que el conocimiento sea extrapolable  a distintos casos, analizando y trabajando las distintas etapas que han de abordarse en el proceso de planificación territorial, desde el análisis y diagnóstico previo hasta la definición de estrategias, programas y acciones realistas adaptadas al contexto social, económico y ambiental.
