The subject "Intellectual and Industrial Property in Creative Industries" introduces students to the legal context in which the creative industries operate, made up of the legal rules that regulate intellectual property and industrial property.
As the creative industries commercially exploit intellectual creations that are protected either by intellectual property legislation or by industrial property legislation, and both forms of protection can coexist, it is appropriate to be familiar with both legislations.
In this way, this subject offers, firstly, an overview of the rights of authors of literary, artistic and scientific works as well as the system of transmission of these rights and the rights related or connected to those of authors; secondly, trademarks, patents and designs; and finally, the opportunities inherent in the free circulation of certain creative products.
